Alma Yard Phase 1 Plymouth

Working in collaboration with Through The Woods for client, Eat Work Art, we helped to deliver phase 1 of the new Alma Yard development in Plymouth.

Comprised of a series of derelict (former rope factory) building in the centre of Plymouth, the proposal was for the transformation into a creative hub for the city.

Work started with a feasibility study for the site as a whole before breaking it into two distinct phases, which would be delivered separately. Phase 1, saw the creation of 20 commercial office / workshop spaces specifically aimed at creative industries.

Great effort was taken to understand the history of these buildings before designing outline proposals.

Following a detailed feasibility study, we worked up planning and building control consents as well as production information for the contractor to work from in building out phase 1.

Phase 1 of Alma Yard is now complete, and feedback has been overwhelmingly positive from building users.
