We place a great importance on listening to clients needs and delivering projects, which fulfil aspirations, and have a track record of delivering exciting and innovative buildings that meet the needs of the user whilst minimizing the impact on natural resources.
Research is an important aspect of Fox Ecological Architects, and helps to build knowledge on new construction techniques, materials and technologies that can enhance the design of new buildings.
One area of expertise is with thermal imaging for building inspections. To request a thermal survey, further information on this can be found at www.thermalimagingir.com.
Collaboration with other professionals is also central to Fox Ecological Architects. Recent collaborations have included working with John Renshaw Architects, Edward Davies Studio and Through The Woods where expertise and resources has been shared on specific projects.
Fox Ecological Architects are based in Devon and primarily work throughout the south west of England, though are open to comissions further afield.
We are an ARB (Architect's Registration Board) registered practice. As part of this, we adhere to a strict code of professional conduct, which includes carrying professional indemnity insurance.

Fox Ecological Architects was set up by qualified architect Matthew Fox as a sole practitioner to deliver contemporary energy efficient buildings to the South West of England and beyond.
Prior to setting up Fox Ecological Architects, Matthew worked as an architect at Gaia Architects in Edinburgh, which similarly specialized in energy efficient buildings. At Gaia, Matthew worked on numerous projects, including the Glentress visitor center and the award winning Plummer’s Wood PassivHaus, for which Matthew was project architect.
Matthew has close connections with Plymouth University, where he regularly undertakes research, lectures and publishes academic papers in the field of environmental architecture.
